I am new to this forum. I have not ordered or built any of these plans. I have a home wood shop that has table saw, drill press, hand tools many different power sanders, Table router, as well as a scroll saw. (I make a lot of scroll saw projects). Also a Large dust extraction system. So I make many wood working projects. My question for you is, it seems all of these patterns list a lathe as a needed tool. Is this really a needed item. It is the one tool my shop lacks , and I really don't want to purchase. Is it always needed? Can it be worked around..ie maybe use of wood dowels perhaps? Thank You!
