I’m progressing on my build and thought occasionally I’d add a picture or two of my progress.
These pictures are of the clamping of the outside pieces while the interior assembly has already been glued and finished. Dowels were used during glueing to have proper alignment.
The material is a quality ply and will be primered and painted.

Looking very good can not wait to see the finished model going to look good with the boat and crane winch.
I did forget to ask have you decided on the colors you are going use for the truck.
Right now I going with a Fire Engine Red as main color and will accent the piece above fenders Orange and making the Wheels on mini- lathe and they will be Black. Bed toolbox and other accessories most likely will be the Orange also.
Good choice of colors and nice to know you are going to make the wheels for truck.
Today I was able to spend some time on the hobby. I located and glued the Fenders on but to do so I made a templete set of the Wheels as I’ve found to gurantee the Wheel fit it’s best to place Fenders with wheels.
That is looking very good. Good idea with the Wheels on first and the right way to place the Fenders on to make sure they are placed in the right place. And now the truck as started to take shape and looking good.
Unfortunately this build sat not being worked on for to long so last week the build resumed. The truck has been sprayed with primer, ladders and raft/ oars made and today the main frame of the boom hoist made.
Looking very good and going to look the part with that boom hoist on the truck
I’ve gotten the Trucks body and accessories painted and will share my results. Enjoy my Truck pictures!
Next to work on will be the wheels of which I’ve decided to add ready made wheels .
Love it your grandson is going to absolutely love this truck
Wheels are added to complete the Truck, I kept the Wheels natural as I couldn’t decide on the appropriate painting of them. Enjoy my completed Robust Fire/ Rescue Truck.
